Top Gear - Audi RS6
Richard Hammond takes the Audi RS6 downhill fast in the French Alps.

Top Gears Richard Hammond went head to head with 2 top class french skiers in Sundays episode of Top Gear. The 2 men took the cable car to 11,000 ft and took extreme skiing to a whole new level when they went off piste and used parachutes to come straight down the mountain in a bid to beat Richard Hammond to the small village of Villaroger.

Richard Hammond drove the RS6 22 miles, round hairpin bends, along stretches of straight road and utilised the 572 hp up tough climbs to reach Villaroger. He compared the Audi RS6 to the BMW and Mercedes Estates stating that both the BMW and the Mercedes have around 500 hp whereas the Audi has 572 hp making it more powerful than not only these two cars but also more powerful than the Ferrari F50!!! He went on to state that the Audi RS6 is "the most powerful Estate Car in the world". Going from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph, although Audi Test Pilots have reached 200 mph.

Sadly, Mr. Hammond hadn't done his research and was unable to find the finish, which was a small bar in the village. Had he not got lost right at the end he would have beaten the 2 Frenchmen in the race from Les Arc to Villaroger. All in all a very amusing and exciting race!!
