Audi side assist
This feature uses radar sensors to monitor the car’s blind spot and the traffic situation behind the vehicle. The light in the exterior mirror informs or warns you if side assist considers a detected vehicle to represent a hazard if you were to change lane. |

|
 |
Audi lane assist
Audi lane assist warns the driver if the vehicle strays from a marked lane, by way of vibrating the steering wheel. |

 |
adaptive cruise control
The optional adaptive cruise control automatically regulates the distance from traffic ahead. If a car ahead of you slows down, the system also reduces your speed. If the vehicle in front brakes suddenly, the system first warns the driver acoustically before applying the brakes briefly if necessary. |

| Engine |
 |
The engines in the new Audi A4: progressive, powerful, efficient. All the petrol engines are equipped with FSI®, a particularly economical method of direct injection. The TDI® engines use modern common rain injection technology, are fitted with diesel particulate filters and already comply with EU5 emission standards.

The diesel engines
Modern, high-torque diesel units with four or six cylinders are available for your new Audi A4. The range at model launch extends from 105 kW (143 hp) to 176 kW (240 hp). The most powerful diesel engine for the A4, the 3.0 TDI, has an impressive torque rating of 500 Nm from 1,500 to 3,000 rpm, and reaches 62 mph from a standstill in just 6.1 seconds; its top speed is 155 mph (governed).
Fuel consumption and emission data:
Audi A4 2.0 TDI, 105 kW (143 hp); combined fuel consumption 51.4 mpg; combined CO2 emissions 144 g/km
Audi A4 2.7 TDI, 140 kW (190 hp), multitronic®; combined fuel consumption 42.8 mpg; combined CO2 emissions 176 g/km Audi A4 3.0 TDI quattro, 176 kW (240 hp); combined fuel consumption 40.9 mpg; combined CO2 emissions 183 g/km
The petrol engines
The petrol engines in the A4 are equipped with FSI® or TFSI®, technologies that have been tried and tested in motorsport. In FSI® engines, fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in precisely measured quantities. This provides for efficient combustion and improved petrol utilisation. TFSI® combines FSI® with a turbocharger to deliver even more power. Petrol models are available as both four- and six-cylinder versions. The range at model launch extends from 118 kW (160 hp) to 195 kW (265 hp).
A special valve timing system, the Audi valvelift system, reduces internal friction in the 3.2 FSI engine, thus reducing fuel consumption – but not power! As a result, the most powerful model, the A4 3.2 FSI, with its torque rating of 330 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.2 seconds.
Fuel consumption and emission data:
Audi A4 1.8 TFSI, 118 kW (160 bhp); combined fuel consumption 39.8 mpg; combined CO2 emissions 169 g/km
Audi A4 3.2 FSI quattro, 195 kW (265 bhp); combined fuel consumption 30.7 mpg; combined CO2 emissions 219 g/km |
